The Watchman's Duty

"Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked 'O wicked man, you will surely die.' and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life." Ezekiel 33:7-9

Friends, it is so very important that we warn people, not only so that we won't be held accountable for their lost soul, but also so that they must repent and turn towards Christ Jesus. He is deserving of their souls. There are are so many souls that I have encountered that I have not shared the love of Christ with. I have not warned them about the danger they are rushing headlong into. It truly breaks my heart that I have grieved my heavenly Father in such a way. We say that we are unashamed of the gospel, but then when the Lord asks us to share it with others, we given into fear of the unknown. There are souls to be won.

This may sound odd... but please feel your pulse and close your eyes for about 10 seconds...do not read on until  you have.

I want you to know that I am grievously weeping as I write this.
Every pulse that you just felt, a soul without Jesus just died - in India alone...
Yes, I give you permission to begin sobbing. We must have a greater burden for the lost. How is it, that we hear about the billions of dying children, sex slaves, starving humans, children who are forced into war, and especially all of the lost souls, and just go on with our daily lives? There are very few who even feel anything, many who do not even shed one tear over these heart-breaking facts. We should be agonizing over these lost souls.

It is so simple to brush this off like it does not even matter, and go on with our fun, American lives, maybe even go watch a movie,  play games, read a novel, check our facebook, surf the internet, hang out with friends etc. Whatever makes it easiest to forget... Some of us may even cry for a minute or two, but then we move on like we never even heard about it. “God save us from living in comfort while sinners are sinking into hell!” Charles Spurgeon

I pray that this might cause anguish and deep distress within your soul, driving you to your knees, crying out for God's mighty power to enable you to intercede on the behalf of the lost people in our world and share His love with them.

Crying does not get the job done. We must be on our knees, pleading our Saviour for souls, wrestling in prayer and not letting go until the reward is won, and we must GO and warn them! It is hard work, but it is our duty! God is faithful to fulfill His promises. Our Lord has already paid the ultimate price for their lives, we just need to go out claim what is rightfully His. Not only for their souls, but for the glory of our King. Friends, there is a battle to be fought- and to be victoriously won!
“Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.”    ~Charles Spurgeon
“If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for.” ~Charles Spurgeon
“It is not our business to make the message acceptable, but to make it available. We are not to see that they like it, but that they get it." ~Dr. Vance Havner
We walk past people who are bound for hell, almost daily. We probably even speak to many of them whether at a grocery store, on the street, our next door neighbors, friends or even our own family members! We are responsible for warning them. We will regret not sharing the gospel with them when we hear their screams from hell crying out to be rescued. Oh Jesus, allow us to hear the cries of the dying souls. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 warns us, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”
"How much do you have to hate somebody to not attempt to convert them? How much do you have to hate someone to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?" ~Penn Jillette, an atheist comedian, magician, and filmmaker
“This is true friendship evangelism: a friendship that begins (not ends) with the proclamation of the gospel. It is based entirely on the gospel rather than on sporting or social events designed to sneak the gospel into the conversation at some later date.” ~Jon Speed
We must have the heart of a watchman. Not letting the enemy into our own souls, and watching on behalf of others. Oh Jesus, teach us to pray without ceasing. We must be lit with the Holy Fire morning and evening, through prayer and study of the Word, and allow it to burn throughout the entire day and night by abiding in Him. People must see the Light of Christ burning within us. We must walk unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and share it will every soul we encounter. Lord, teach us!
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit , be with you all."(2 Cor. 13:14) I pray that this challenges you.  I love you all deeply, I pray for you all often, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and know I am standing with you in prayer. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Blessings in Christ Jesus,

Hannah Brooke Hartman

  1. God is precise Rev 22:18-19 no one must add to or take away from the words of the book of Revelation : It is a woman Rev 12 that delivers the true word John1:1, Rev 12:5, Rev 12:13 who restores Acts 3:21 all things to the world before Christ’s return. This woman exposes the lies of Satan who has deceived the whole world Rev 12:9. This woman creates a new thing in the earth by fulfilling God's promise to Eve Gen 3:15, Jer 31:22, Isa 14:16. Moses and Elijah are together with the word Matt 17:3 they all three are in this one woman. She is like unto Moses Num 12:3. She was raised up Acts 3:22 from the Laodicean church that becomes lukewarm because they refused to hear her Rev 3:14-17. She is bold like Elijah Matt 17:11, Luke 1:17. As Elijah was alone declaring the true God to the people so also her witness alone turns the hearts of the fathers to the children Mal 4:5-6 to prepare a people for the Lords return before the great and dreadful day of the Lord Matt 17:3, Luke 9:30. Those who will not hear Acts 3:23 the true word of God she now deliveres to the world free of charge, as a witness, at the heel of time from the wilderness Rev 12:6 will not be allowed inside the walls of God’s coming kingdom from heaven Rev 21. This true testimony of the true value of the blood of the Lamb delivers the truth that not one child of God will be put in a hell fire no matter what their sins. It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer 7:31, Jer 19:5. God created evil Isa 45:7 to teach his children the knowledge of good and evil Rom 8:7, Gen 3:22 so that at their resurrection they become a god Matt 22:29-30, Ps 82:6. Prove all things. You cannot rightly judge this unless you read all that has been written by this woman first Pro 18:13. http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com Check out the bruising of Satan and the reason for all of mankind’s sufferings.
